Ripped jeans provide that something extra that elevates (or demotes) denim from standard to grungy, keeping rock ‘n’ roll in mind at all times. The history of ripped jeans is deep, starting out in early punk with the Ramones being moving to the stratosphere in the 1980s as an essential element of heavy metal’s conception. By the 1990s rips had become an expectation on denim, spearheaded by the grunge movement belonging to Kurt Cobain’s Nirvana, as well as Mudhoney, Soundgarden and The Melvins.
In 2019, there is no stopping distressed, deconstructed denim, as it moves itself across from GRUNGE ONLY into a finish that can be fronted by all, from skaters and artists to, well, whoever wants to wear them really. There are no rules with ripped jeans, as you’d expect.
Our ripped jeans hold no bias. Available in designs across all fits, expect to see rips on every shape that we provide – super skinny, skinny, straight, wide. We stock a solid range from our beloved friends at Rolla’s, Ksubi, and Lee, amongst many, many others.
Rips give denim that loved look, where you can never tell just how old the jeans are. Our collection of ripped jeans focus on giving that worn-in, washed-up look that informs much of our grungier styling. Our ripped jeans are designed in all shapes: skinny, slim, straight, whatever.
