Festivals are more than just live music for some. It’s a chance for the likeminded to get together and get wild.
For me, it’s about being with friends and watching great acts. The lineup is key, and it doesn’t get any better than this year’s Splendour. However, these days, people are starting to look to festivals more to see who is wearing what!
Even though there once was a strong boho vibe, there’s now a strong shift towards urban street looks, with sportswear mixed in. Yes, the fringing, feathers, flower crowns and crochet dresses are still the main festival go-to looks, but this year it seems to be more about utility dressing backed with sportswear.
With some of the world’s biggest festivals already been and gone, like Coachella and Glastonbury, here’s a quick snapshot of what the festival-favourite celebs were wearing.
Cara Delvigne was the pin up girl for the new festival dressing trend emerging – wearing her adidas matching tracksuit and a Hi Vis utility jacket.
Alexa Chung wore a utility jacket back with black PVC pants.
Daisy Lowe opted to complete her outfit with sports bombers.
Poppy Delevigne championed the Glasto look with a double denim get up, and always was seen wearing a super short floral dress with an oversized Sherpa.
Boho still reigns, but there is definitely a tougher edge emerging. If you’re still keen to wear that floral dress, team it back with a tough biker jacket. Denim overalls are always a favourite and easy go-to, this year wear it back with a sports crop and bomber to give it a more urban edge.
If you are really game, turn up in white. Whilst you must be brave to wear white, it will definitely get you noticed in the fashion stakes. And in terms of accessories, super fun colourful sunnies and super sized statement earrings (which are a personal favourite) are the way to go to give you a bit more of a unique look.
